Embassy Friday

With the Olympics starting on Friday, there is no better way to start your weekend, than to sprint on down to Embassy, hurdle the bouncers and hop, skip and jump your way to the bar. (Please note that hurdling the bouncers is not recommended!) Last week was packed from start to finish, with many people wanting to turn the night into a marathon, rather than a 100 metre sprint, so make sure you get yourselves on the guestlist and wait for the starter's orders!

Parties at Crystal

At Crystal you will be guaranteed a night of fantastic music and an atmosphere second to none. This ultra trendy venue in the heart of the West End plays host to London's finest parties week in week out, and is a must for your social calendar. We've been partying here for just over a month and the faithful have been coming back again and again for their mid week fix of beautiful people and awesome music, so make sure you don't miss out! The fun starts at 10pm and GIRLS are FREE before 11pm."

Prince rocking it

The one and only Prince was spotted at The Green Door shortly before 1 A.M. August 3rd. It was the lo hi fi night there also known as rock night at the club.

Unlike in previous visits, Prince did not join the band for a jam session. Prince was wearing a black outfit.

Around this time last year, Prince kicked off a record breaking 21 night residency at London’s O2 Arena which included some of the most off the hook aftershows the talented musician has ever done.

In fact, those concerts along with Prince’s love for London inspired his upcoming photo book entitled “21 Nights”, which will include a disc of aftershow material from those O2 shows. It is due sometime this fall and we hear there was a slight delay we are told due to promotional reasons. Here is hoping we get a TV appearance or 7. We don’t ask for much, do we?

We are still hoping Prince does a club show somewhere in L.A. like the rumored Vanguard club or elsewhere. As for London, can’t wait to see the book as I know from experience, y’ll are too funky.

Tannoy news system

"Tannoy has confirmed that it is to use the forthcoming PLASA 2008 show at London''''s Earls Court to showcase its latest loudspeaker range.

Having just last month been unveiled in Las Vegas, the company''''s VQ and QFlex lines have been designed with various conferencing and concert venues in mind, including large dance clubs, open-air venues and places of worship.

According to the press release from Tannoy put out to coincide with the launch, the new speakers are capable of ensuring a building maintains its unique acoustics without compromising on quality or volume.

Graham Hendry, director of business development at Tannoy, explained: 'Through discussions with customers and consultants it soon became very obvious that the Tannoy VQ range had a much more diverse market appeal.

'VQ has already enjoyed a high profile install in one such alternate sector - at Ibiza''''s premier dance club, Es Paradis, which has been winning plaudits from clubbers and DJs alike since the start of the summer season.'

PLASA 2008 is due to take place between 7th and 10th September, with thousands of delegates from within the audio technology department due to present their latest products"
